What is a good eye cream to reduce dark circles and puffiness?
I am only 21, but I have dark circles under my eyes and puffiness. I know the best answer is for me to get more sleep, but as a college student with two jobs that isn’t really possible.
I am looking for a good under-eye cream that reduces circles and puffiness better than makeup alone.
Also as a college student, cost is an issue, so keep a lower budget (under $20) in mind when answering.

What is the best eye cream to get rid of or at least lessen dark circles? Not wrinkles, or puffiness, just darkness. I have been using Neutrogena Radiance Boost for a while now and it doesn’t seem to be helping much, is there anything better? Thanks!

Dark Circles Natural Cure at Home
Home remedies for dark circles are considered to be the best healing method. It is natural way of curbing the dark blemishes under the eye which will not cause any harm to the skin.
      1) Application of a thin sliced cucumber on top of each eye for 15 to 20 minutes, twice a day, relieves stress and cools down the eyes.

The dark circles treatment should be started as soon as possible to avoid it from increasing.

      Dark Circles Diet
Eat a Healthy Diet and have Breakfast
A healthy diet for dark circles which is full of nutrients is the most essential thing in this case. If the body does not receive its daily intake of nutrients, it may create such problems and maybe worse in the future.

Some of the essential nutrients can be found in:
      1) Fresh Fruits and vegetables
      2) Green leafy vegetables
      3) Cereal crops such as oats, barley, wheat and millets.

      1) Washing your face with water and a soft soap every hour is very important. It is very important that your skin stays fresh and cool all the time and free from any germs or bacteria.
      2) Daily eight hours of sleep is very essential for the body and the eyes. It is very important that you sleep without being disturbed at all. This is not only good for the eyes but also for the body as you will not have any health problems in the future.
      3) “Work less and relax more” should be your main motto if you wish to get rid of the dark circles as soon as possible. Stress and fatigue are two toxic enemies of a dark circle-free skin.
      4) Exercising is also very important and should be added to your daily regime. If you remain healthy at all times, you will not encounter any health problems.

I get enough sleep and I drink a lot of water, but I still have dark circles under my eyes. I think it’s genetic. I’m 26 years old and would rather not spend too much money – anything up to around $30ish would be great, and if I could find it in a drug store or department store in Canada that would be even better.

You need a multi-peptide eye cream. Rodan & Fields Multi-Peptide Eye Cream is one of the best and is around $50-$60 for a container. It works wonders. Also, use a pale pink shimmery liner/shadow crayon and draw it directly onto your under eye circles and pat in, and your shadows will literally disappear! Carmindy from What Not to Wear does this, and I do it for my horrible circles and any blemishes and it works wonders!

    • Stefania says:

The tips below are presented to you to choose and purchase the right dark circle eye cream with the best and qualified ingredients inside. It will not make you waste time and money anymore.

The first qualified ingredient that can be chosen is Eyeliss that is designed professionally by experts of Europe. The substances contained inside Eyeliss are hesperidin methyl, peptide chains, and chalcone. Peptide is tiny protein fragments that are commonly found under skin. The eyeliss will work well in reducing bags under eyes that is commonly caused by drainage lack that will cause some liquid that usually makes the bags and loss some flexibility of the skin. The drainage and capillary will be promoted well by the eyeliss so that it will promote skin firming and elastically.

You may also choose products with Haloxyl contained inside that will work effectively. It is a substance that has been clinically tested and proved that it can reduce dark circles and also bags under eyes with the work that will make smoother blood circulation, increase hemoglobin, and make thicker the skin under eyes.

Another ingredient that is good to reduce black circle and bags under the eyes is CynergyTK. Actually, it is protein that can effectively support collagen and elastin producing under skin. It is great to promote skin regeneration and reducing some wrinkles well. Besides that, Homeo Age is also a substance that has some anti aging properties that is made from a kind of Canadian algae which contains much vitamin and minerals to promote skin beautifying. Another natural ingredient is Babassu; an emollient that will well promote skin softening surround eyes.

Nanobelle Coenzyme Q10 is also a good ingredient to reduce some skin problems surround eyes. It is designed from nano-emulsion that will absorb well to the deep skin layers. It will perfectly remove some wrinkles that are caused by free radicals. Cromodol CAP is also emollient ingredient that will take a role in covering the skin from dirt and bacteria so it can’t enter epidermis of skin.

What brands of eye cream and Concealers are effective in reducing under eye dark circles?
I have heredity under eye dark circles that I can’t seem to get rid of. I get plenty of sleep, exercise, and eat a balanced diet. I’ve tried every home remedy possible.

I do a so-so job in covering up my dark circles with concealer, I know that i’m suppost to use a yellow toned concealer that’s a shade lighter than my foundation.

Can you recommend a good brand of concealer? Have you found a cream that’s reduced the appearance of your dark circles?

PS: if someone could star this question I would be truely grateful because I never seem to get many satisfactory answers to this question.

    • zitdr_02 says:

Since the dark color is really the visible venous blood under the thin skin in that area, the only real valid method is to try to thicken the skin a bit, by use of a retinoid product. These tend to be irritating, though, when used in that area. Also, make sure that you get plenty of rest, as fatigue helps to decrease the tone of the veins, and allows them to “pool” blood in that area, making the skin appear dark. As far as cosmetic help, use a yellow based foundation.

Preparation-H, believe it or not. Preparation-H is used to shrink capillaries, reducing blood flow. Dark circles are caused by capillaries being so close to the surface. It has a special ingredient in it that helps this, but the formula in Canada is different than the one in America. The one in America doesn’t work, Canada’s does. I don’t know about any other countries.

There are all kinds of articles about it. Dr.Oz even addressed it on Opera one time. Look it up if you don’t believe me.

Dark circles under the eyes aren’t always caused by lack of sleep. It can be caused from things like congestion from a deviated septum, allergies that cause congestion, or it can even be hereditary. If it is lack of sleep then they will usually go away with common remedies, or simply more sleep. However if it is any of the congestion stuff then chances are it will never go away, and it is permanent damage to the pigments in your skin.

and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

To hide dark circles, you can use YSL concealer or salmon concealer..

What is the best anti-wrinkle/dark circle eye cream for me?
I have bad dark circles, crows feet, and wrinkles and I’m only 15. Concealer doesn’t work that well because of all of my wrinkles. I’m also really pale so dark circles are probably a lot worse than you’re imagining…
So I want to find a good cream that will get rid of (not completely, I know that won’t happen) these things that doesn’t cost $100. Thanks

    • EnCee says:

If you’re 15 and have dry skin…..it might be your diet. Try drinking lots of water and eating bananas, avocados and lean meats. You can make a mask of plain (not vanilla but it must say plain on the container) yogurt. Just spoon it right out of the carton, apply it to your clean skin, and leave it on for as long as you can. You can get close to the eye, but be careful there not to get it in it.

A great cream for helping with wrinkles is the original NIVEA in the blue jar. It’s not much money and it’s easy to find in any drugstore. It’s best to put it on at night, because it might be too heavy for you during the day. Although, you can dab just a little bit around your eyes to help with the dryness. Watch out, it’ll smear makeup if you have any on though.

Last, you should try to steam your face every day. If you don’t have a steamer you can run hot water at the sink and put a towel over your head to make a tent. Stay there for 5 minutes. If you’re short on time, put a washcloth in comfortably hot water and put it on your face until it cools. Do this at night before bedtime, and then apply the NIVEA.

Is there an eye cream for wrinkles and dark circles that does not cause tiny white bumps under the eyes?
I have been trying out different eye creams around my eyes. I’ve noticed that I’ve started to form wrinkles, dark circles and slight baginess under my eyes. I’ve used St. Ives Vit. K cream for the dark circles, L’oreal Hydrafresh, Nivea Eyezone (with Q10), L’oreal RevitaLift Eye and Oil of Olay Total Effects. But I don’t use them long enough to see the results. The problem is when I use these creams under my eyes, tiny white bumps (like whiteheads) form on my lower eyelids. I only apply small amounts of the cream. Still, the white bumps appear. Is there an alternative to eye creams that fight wrinkles and bags without causing the skin around my eyes to break out? I have oily, sensitive skin. Please help.

    • Natural Skincare Enthusiast says:

Dark circles and puffy eyes are one of the most frequently asked how-to-cure skincare related questions. They may be caused by a variety of factors like hereditary, lack of sleep, not enough water, stress, age, lack of certain vitamins and minerals in the diet, overloading on alcohol, etc. However, there are natural ways you can dramatically reduce, if not eliminate them. The important aspect to remember is that most skincare problems are internal problems relating to the diet. There is no specific food that causes a skin problem in itself, but it may be certain ingredients in certain foods that cause the skin to erupt.

Apply these techniques to the letter to see a difference in a short time.

Puffy and baggy eyes First, make sure you are getting at least 8 hours of sleep a night, drinking 8-10 glasses of water, eliminating alcohol, and are reducing stress as much as possible. To help with reducing stress, stretch for at least 10 minutes a day, exercise, and do something you enjoy. It is helpful to have a notebook by your bed to write 2 (or more) things you learned or cherished that day. This practice helps to put the day in a better perspective.

Next, you should tweak your eating plan slightly to expedite results. If there is one thing you can do to expedite your results, avoid salty foods. Salty foods are a huge contributing factor to puffy and baggy eyes because they contribute to water retention. Water retention makes the body (as well as the skin) appear bloated and puffier. Under the eye region is very delicate, so the puffiness is more apparent there than on other parts of the face.

For the natural solution: Purchase organic wheat germ oil from a health food store and apply under the eyes and around the eyes twice a day.

Dark under eye circles You should follow the same criteria stated for puffy and baggy eyes to avoid salty foods. However, you may try these secrets.

Secret 1: Mix turmeric powder with raw pineapple juice. The trick is pineapple juice must be taken from a raw pineapple, not a canned version. Mix them together until a paste-like formation forms. Gently spread this mixture under the eyes. Let it stay on the eyes for 15-20 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water. Do this procedure at nighttime for a week. You should see visible results within that time frame.

Secret 2: For serious dark circles, purchase almond oil (the wheat germ oil is more appropriate for puffy eyes) from a health food store. Gently pat the oil under the eyes and around the eye. Do this in the morning and evening to see fast results.

Dietary change: Eat 2 cups (or more) of organic spinach everyday for either lunch or dinner. It’s convenient and best to buy frozen organic spinach or organic spinach leaves, as non-organic spinach is high in pesticide residuals. In addition, eat 1/4 to 1/2 cup of raw almonds (must not be roasted or salted) 3 hours after eating dinner. In addition to eliminating salty foods, doing these dietary changes will quickly speed up the results.

      I hope this helps.

Kiehls Avocado Treatment!! i’m 28 and just heard about this stuff… it got some rave reviews at makeup alley, which is a makeup rating website that i love: http://makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemID=17934/Creamy_Eye_Treatment_with_Avocado/Kiehls/Treatments_(Eye)/

i just started using it about 3 weeks ago. i’m such a consumer, and TOUGH critic when it comes to products. i also have extremely sensitive skin: it is super dry/flaky in some areas (such as around the eyes) and oily/acne-prone in others. also, i am prone to eczema on my face.

this cream has done wonders for the skin of my eye area, and i haven’t experienced any of the irritation or burning i’ve felt with pretty much every other eye product. i’m smooth, soft, bright, and glowy. i’m hooked on this stuff. ๐Ÿ˜€

Does anyone know of a good eye cream that would help get rid of dark circles?
I have really dark circles under my eyes and it doesn’t matter how much sleep I get, how much water I drink etc nothing seems to help. I’ve read about strivectin eye cream but it has mixed reviews. I’ve also looked at Rodial eye light but it’s hard to find reviews for it and it’s quite expensive so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Does Dad or Mom have the dark circles, too?

“More sleep” is only a good answer for about half the population who have this problem. Unfortunately, genetics is a big part of the issue for the rest of us that have this problem.

But you can and should fight back, even if it’s genetics.

The darkness is actually a lot like a bruise, little capillaries in the skin that have burst and swelled. There’s two strategies to use, attacking the cause of the problem, and covering up the effects.

For “people who bruise easily” doctors recommend they increase the amounts of fruits and vegetables they eat. Not surprisingly, most “people who bruise easily” also have raccoon eyes. The advice to increase fruits and vegetables in your diet is something you really want to get on top of. Make a point to eat a lot more fruits and vegetables daily. You can do that by chugging a can of V8 juice every morning, and make a choice for orange juice whenever possible. Clear juices like apple juice really aren’t going to do much because they are mostly just water and sugar.

Increase the amount of water you drink and watch your salt intake. Too much salt at any age has a bad effect on your capillaries. Increase the amount of potassium in your diet (which goes along with increasing fruits and vegetables). Potassium balances out the effects of salt.

      Take a daily multivitamin.

Religiously use a nice strong but gentle sunscreen made for the face. If you have to have a tan on your face, get it out of a bottle; there’s plenty of excellent bronzers out there.

Elevate the head of your bed by a couple of inches by shoving books under the bedposts.

Do you have nasal allergies? Your eyes, nose, throat and ears are all interconnected. If you have been suffering with sneezing over the family cat, a prescription allergy medication may do wonders for your raccoon eyes as well. If you have sinus problems, put a hot compress or heating pad wrapped in a towel on your face daily to help everything drain.

Eye creams with vitamin K, which strengthens capillaries, has also been clinically shown to help dark eyes.

For cover-ups, there are dozens upon dozens of products for this very problem on the market. But remember, less is more.

If you’re really unsure how to apply a cover-up for raccoon eyes, try going to store like Sephora or a large department store and asking for assistance. Always look for the oldest woman behind the counter because she will probably have the best experience with makeup; stay away from teen girls who will gleefully make you up like Tammy Faye Baker.

(And don’t get talked into buying the latest beauty breakthrough from France that promises to cure everything from under-eye circles to monthly water weight gain…)

    • Karen Christian says:

Hello !! Your under eye circles if not cause by sleep deprivation or malnutrition is cause by genetics.
So in other words.. creams will not work as a permanent solution. You can try Clinique All About Eyes or Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Eye Treatment, I believe what will help you the most is a cream with light reflectors which will brighten up the area creating an illusion that they are not as dark..

      I hope this helps !

What is the Best Dark Eye Circle Lightening Cream?
I have pretty bad dark eye circles, I have a gross looking brown ring around my eyes & my eyelids are deep purple. It’s very annoying having to conceal them all the time. For once I’d like to actually lighten them. Now, I do not get them from lack of sleep, they are hereditary from my father – so that may or may not make a difference.

I really like Skyn Iceland’s Relief Eye Cream (it comes in a jar or click pen form) and DHC’s Eye Bright Serum. You’ll have to use eye cream twice daily for a while if you want good results, but they might not work very well on you, because your dark circles are hereditary (that makes a big difference, unfortunately), because most eye creams target symptoms of stress.

I need something that gets rid of dark circles puffiness and wrinkles, and i dont care how much it costs, as long as its good and vegetarian friendly. Eliminating the dark circles is my priority so if it only has that its better than nothing! Then puffiness i guess.

Dark circles are hard. They are usually genetic and only makeup can cover them up. As far as puffiness…freeze some spoons and place them on your puffy area. Vitamin A aids in wrinkle reduction.
